Xi Yu is a lecturer at the College of Marxism, South China Agricultural University in Guangzhou, P.R China. She graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University with a Master's Degree in Law. Xi Yu has published several articles in Chinese academic journals that take a closer look at the governance of politics and society. The main university courses she taught were moral cultivation and legal basis, along with elective courses including female studies, mental health, and life happiness for college students. Her current research focuses on left-behind child protection rights and asks how we can protect Chinese left-behind children in order to satisfy their real needs. Xi Yu uses vulnerability theory as the analyzing tool of her research, and emphasizes the importance of distinguishing the responsibilities of parents and State.
